Because GPS fences need a clear sky to talk to satellites, indoor walls can cause signal interference. If you have a large property and your house sits deep inside the safe zone, this isn't an issue. However, for smaller yards where the boundary runs close to the house, indoor signal "drift" can trigger false alerts.
